New Snapshot Report in TAC

We've recently added a new report to Total Activity Control. This "snapshot" report gives business owners and managers a great overview of business costs and profits.

The Snapshot report is a single piece of paper that is designed to report your before-tax gross profit for your business operations for any selected date period, day, week, and month.

This report recaps your rental, service and operational activity, including sales, receipts and forecast dollars, and calculates your costs based on standard measures.

Run the snapshot report each day and at the end of each week and you know exactly where your business operations are. No guessing.

Expanded Support for GPS Devices

We've been expanding our support of popular GPS devices.

The Garmin Nuvi 700 has become one of the most popular and useful of the Garmin line. We are now supporting the export of optimized routes in Total Activity Control directly into this device.

For those of you already invested in Magellan or Tom-Tom, we will be adding support to those devices ealry in 2010.

Construction Down but Special Events are up

Hi Everyone!
Some good news to report. After Talking with a few of my favorite clients i have discovered that although Construction is extremly slow right now special events seem to be booming! I guess less people are traveling and want the fun to come home to us.

Reducing Costs

We thought we'd share this item from a recent newsletter we sent out...

As we continue through the current economic times, many companies are looking for ways to reduce costs. Even if you've already gone through some belt tightening, it is useful to review the steps you've taken and see what you may have missed on the first go-round.

Here are some suggestions we think are worth considering.

1. Use email to send invoices to customers. This benefits your company and your customer by reducing your paper, postage and processing costs and giving your customers an electronic record of their invoice that they can save electronically and review later.

2. Streamline your operations by optimizing and combining your routes, and eliminating stops that cost more money than they bring in.

3. Reduce driver idle time by providing route and work order information electronically. Email work orders to drivers mobile devices and update their GPS devices with route information.

4. Use financial reports to stay on top of your company's sales and receivables. Total Activity Control has some excellent reports to show you the health of your business, compare customers and show you which services and routes are profitable. We have two trend analysis reports that are especially helpful to business owners.
